Project Background

Provision of integrated emergency primary health care, nutrition, protection, and WASH services for conflict and disaster-affected people in Afghanistan’s Eastern and Northern regions.

If life-saving emergency interventions such as WASH, Protection, Health, and Nutrition services are provided to populations impacted by recent conflicts and natural disasters in Afghanistan, then the highly vulnerable and marginalized households and individuals will be able to meet their basic needs for health, nutrition, protection, and WASH, mitigate the use of harmful coping mechanisms, and better protect themselves against the rapid onset disasters.

Job Purpose

MD/Nures  activities at the BHA provinces( Laghman, Nengarhar and Kunar)

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• To perform emergency first care if needed.
• Under direct management of the senior Health Officer the Medical Doctor/Nurse is responsible for the following main activities to ensure the provision of quality OPD.
• Dispensing of Rational Medicines usage to patients in SHC.
• Provide medicine/medical supply monthly consumption reports regularly.
• Provide all monthly reports according to the HMIS tools.
• Ensure the patients triage registration and measurements of viral signs.
• Dressing and first aid care of injured patients if needed.

• Recording and reporting of beneficiaries or patient regularly.
• Identify any patient in need of urgent care and refer them immediately to the equipped Health Center.
• Register any patient coming to seek care in the registration book.
• Respect IMC standards of procedures for referral and stabilization of patients.
• Take part in the management of pharmaceutical goods and medical equipment.
• Accompany patients to the external referral HF when required.
• Any other activity assigned by line Supervisor.
